Sippin' and Learnin', Cheers to Graduation and Grape Adventures!

Hello everyone, this is Maggie Cimino, and welcome to my introductory blog post for the OWS Journal!

For those who haven't had the pleasure of meeting me yet, I'm thrilled to be part of the OWS team, assisting Bryan with social media management and marketing. It's an opportunity that excites me every day, as I dive into the world of wine and enjoy the company of passionate individuals.

From the moment I sat down with Bryan at our local Starbucks in Oakton, VA back in January, the possibilities for sprucing up OWS's online presence seemed endless. The brainstorming session was invigorating, sparking ideas about brand identity, community collaboration, and so much more.

As a twenty-one-year-old, the prospect of delving into the realm of wine initially seemed daunting. However, I quickly realized that while I may not be an expert in wine, my expertise lies in revitalizing online brands—a perfect complement to Bryan's wealth of wine knowledge.

One of the most rewarding aspects of my studies at the University of Mississippi is learning how to effectively communicate with diverse demographics, spanning both young and old. I'm passionate about leveraging these skills to engage with people and share my experiences!

With graduation on the horizon, my friends and I are eagerly anticipating the adventures that lie ahead. From choosing where to live to embarking on our careers, we're filled with boundless excitement and a growing appreciation for life's finer pleasures.

Over the past few months, I've embarked on my own personal "Wine School" journey. Ranging from refining my palate to mastering the art of food and wine pairings, each discovery has been a source of joy and enrichment.

Gone are the days of feeling intimidated by wine lists at restaurants. Now, I relish the opportunity to expertly pair the perfect wine with my meal, much to the delight those sitting at my table.

During a recent visit home for spring break, I had the privilege of accompanying Bryan to a wine tasting event. Sampling wines from around the world was a sensory delight, providing me with a crash course in the nuances of taste, aroma, and appreciation.

When I observe my friends ordering cocktails like vodka sodas or mojitos with their meals, it ignites my curiosity about what I would choose. Personally, I'd opt for The Paring Sauvignon Blanc from Santa Barbara, California, as the ideal accompaniment to a classic salmon dish.

This newfound perspective and growth have inspired me to share my experiences with others, encouraging them to savor the pleasures of good food and drink. Collaborating with Bryan has underscored the importance of sharing these experiences, transforming them into moments of connection and closeness.

It's been an absolute delight to share a slice of my journey with you, and I'm eagerly looking forward to writing more posts in the near future!
