Can I pick up my order from OWS?

Unfortunately, due to Virginia ABC regulations orders cannot be picked up. However, we do offer local deliveries to certain areas – Oakton, Vienna, Herndon, Reston, Fairfax, Marshall, Middleburg, The Plains and more.

Will I get my order the same day?

At this time, we do not offer same-day delivery of products. Typically, we will deliver on Fridays, but this may change to Thursdays depending on scheduling conflicts, events, or schedule changes. However, we will let you know at the beginning of the week, or the week prior to make sure everyone is on the same page.

When will my order be shipped or delivered?

Typically, all orders ship on Monday or Tuesday to minimize the transit time and holding in warehouses. Local deliveries will be made on Thursday and Friday of each week.

How is my order shipped?

All orders will be shipped via FedEx or UPS. Deliveries containing alcohol require an adult signature by someone 21 years or older with a valid ID, which means you will need to be present at the time of delivery. Our carriers will only make three attempts to deliver. The customer will be responsible for the shipping fees, 15% product restocking fee, and additional reship costs if you choose to have the product reshipped. For all of these reasons, we strongly recommend delivery to a business address.

**At this time, OWS can only legally deliver in the state of Virginia, District of Columbia, Florida and Alaska. We will be expanding our delivery areas in the near future. Stay tuned as we add more states to the areas of shipping.

Who can order from OWS?

Anyone can order non-alcoholic products. Orders of alcoholic beverages must be made by person(s) over the age of 21 years. Customers may be required to provide additional information or proof of age at the time of delivery or in advance of delivery.

What is the origin or source of the beer and wine?

All wines and beers are purchased from licensed distributors in the State of Virginia. We do not sell wine or beer from auctions, winery direct sales or other non-distribution sources.

What should I do if I'm not satisfied with the wine upon delivery?

OWS stands behind every bottle of wine it sells. If it is not great, we do not sell it. But every once in a while, there can be a bad bottle. If you have a bottle that is
leaking wine on arrival or an incorrect fulfillment of the wrong vintage or wine, we will happily exchange the bottle(s) or credit your account if the wine is no longer available.

Are there any additional costs?

In order to protect wine in shipping, special wine shipping containers are used and the cost of those shipping containers are added to the total cost of the order.

Can I cancel Wine/Beer of the Month memberships?

Yes, monthly shipments are processed on the first business day of each month. Cancellations for the next month will be accepted up to 5 business days prior to the end of the month via email only. For example, to cancel a shipment scheduled for January, the cancellation must be sent via email by December 26th.

Can I cancel an order?

A full refund is gladly given for cancellations made within 6 hours of the order being placed. Orders cancelled after 6 hours, but before the product is shipped, is subject to a 15% cancellation/restocking fee and will be deducted from your
refund. If the products have been shipped, there is no cancellation of the order.

Who is responsible for covering return shipping costs in the event of an issue?

OWS is not responsible for shipping charges incurred due to incorrect shipping addresses provided by the customer, returned shipments (except in the case of a “bad” bottle or incorrect fulfillment), or changes made without notification. If a shipment is returned for an incorrect shipping address or failed delivery attempts, the customer will be responsible for shipping fees, 15% product restocking fee, and any additional shipping cost incurred by OWS.

Are all sales final?

OWS does not offer returns or refunds on alcohol purchases. We are not responsible for damage or loss caused by the shipping carrier. We strongly encourage purchasing shipping protection on your order.

How are shipping rates calculated?

OWS uses FedEx and UPS for delivery. Their delivery and handling rates are based
on the weight and number of bottles in your order. Insurance value is based on the value of the purchase.

How do pre-sales work?

OWS will from time to time be offering pre-sales on special offerings throughout the year. Payments for pre-sales are due at the time of the order being placed. We will notify you when the product has arrived and when it will be shipped/delivered. Requests to cancel an order before the arrival of the product to OWS will be subject to a 15% cancellation fee. Cancellations after the arrival of the product to OWS will be subject to a 45% cancellation fee all deducted from your refund.
