Baskoli is not only a winery… it is a philosophy of life. Their passion and love of the world of wine was what inspired them to create their own txakoli winery in one of the most beautiful locations in the Basque Country: Hondarribia.
What was once a shared dream is now a reality. A tradition lost in the 17th century has been recovered thanks to our commitment to recover and revitalize this cultural winemaking heritage for the people of Hondarribia. Very aware that the key to a great wine is to have the best grapes, they strive to take care of the day-to-day of our vineyard. The weather, soil and crop type are the keys to their exceptional terroir. Their trellis-planted vineyard is located in a privileged, south-facing location, with maximum solar radiation and benefiting from the sea breeze from the Jaizkibel cliffs. The native grape, Hondarrabi Zuri, is the most important in their plots. All of this allows them to produce wines with their own particular style.
Baskoli Txakoli Blanco White Wine is clean and bright, featuring a pale yellow color with greenish glints against the light. When poured into the glass from a certain height, the wine reveals the presence of tiny carbonation bubbles typically associated with this type of txakoli. Intense aromas of white (pear and apple), citrus (grapefruit), and tropical (pineapple and passion fruit) fruits on the nose, all accentuated by the subtle effervescence of natural carbon dioxide gas. Balanced and fresh in the mouth, it has quite a sharp taste with well-integrated acidity. Agreeable on the palate with hints of citrus and tropical fruits in the aftertaste. Long, aromatic finish.
Absolutely love Yalumba Viognier The Virilgus that we were introduced to by OWS Wine.
Bryan at OWS introduced us to this wine we had never had before. Knowing that I prefer dry whites, Bryan thought I would like it. He was wrong, I love it! We initially bought six bottles and came back for a case! No sweet after taste I find common in Viogniers.
