Situated in the heart of the Douro Valley, Conceito Vinhos has carved a niche for itself as an innovative producer of fine Port wines. Through a blend of traditional techniques and contemporary vision, this boutique winery consistently crafts Ports that express the unique attributes of the region. The heart of Conceito's operation lies in the Quinta da Veiga, an estate blessed with an exceptional terroir. This revered vineyard, planted on steep terraces overlooking the Douro River, provides the perfect setting for producing grapes that contribute to the exceptional character of Conceito's Ports. Conceito Vinhos utilizes traditional Douro grape varieties, including Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, and Touriga Franca, in the creation of their Ports. Adhering to time-honored methods, their winemaking process includes foot-treading in lagares and fortification with grape spirit.
For a wine with 13 years of bottle age it is still rich, generous and packed with fruit, this is a field-blend wine that just bursts from the glass. With a fine balance between tannins and the rich blackberry fruit, the wine is ripe, warm and structured. Decadent, but fresh and focused, this full-bodied red displays plum tart and ripe blackberry interwoven with chocolate and anise details. There are hints of savoury soy and cola on the long finish.
