Ficaria Vins Familia Negra Figueria Spain 2016

Ficaria Vins, is located in the Figueria region of Spain just south of Priorat.  They are driven by three things - Passion for wine and through it discover the feeling, the land and the personality, Variety - Garnacha which tells the story of the place, and finally the Territory - which exemplifies the conditions and uniqueness of the place.

I have had the pleasure of tasting this wine several times starting in barrel when visiting the winery in 2017.  The wine remains consistent in always evolving and getting better with age.  The acidity, tannins, fruit, oak are in perfect harmony always working with each other and not fighting.  The fruit on the nose is rich and harmonious and continues on to the palate.  On the palate the fruit notes are joined by cedar, tobacco, baking spices, balanced with the fruit and acidity.  The finish lingers for several minutes and leaving your palate wanting more.  A must stock for any serious collector of wine and any one who celebrates Family.
