Gaia Wines was founded in 1994 by Yiannis Paraskevopoulos, Agriculturist from AUT and PhD in Enology from the University of Bordeaux III, and Leon Karatsalos Agriculturist from AUT. Both founders are examples of the Greek mindset of traveling and of gaining knowledge and experience, characteristics which are transformed into their wines, aiming to offer all wine lovers worldwide, the best possible result, each in their own unique way: Our basic option was to install our wineries in the two most important wine growing regions of Greece, Santorini and Nemea, and to produce competitive wines of high-quality standards. -Yiannis Paraskevopoulos We expected people reading the labels of Gaia Wines to understand this provocative idea, which was our driving force, and always remains the same: to explore in depth the boundaries of the Greek varieties, making them well-known all over the world. -Leon Karatsalos The power of Gaia Wines is its own people, were the professionalism, the method, the willingness and the powerful feeling of belonging to a team, contribute to the success and the enthusiastic recognition of Gaia’s wines.
A delightful introduction to the Agiorgitiko varietal, this red-purple wine has a fruit-forward, medium bodied palate, ripe with flavors of cherry, pomegranate and a hint of butterscotch. It is easy-going with smooth, soft tannins and a fruity finish.
