Since his first Columbia Valley harvest in 1984, acclaimed winemaker Mike Januik has led in Washington wine quality and innovation. Januik is dedicated to crafting high quality, limited release wines by working on a small scale with fruit from the state’s best vineyards and concentrating on the details of winemaking, from fermentation through blending, that transform winemaking from a science to an art.
“At Januik Winery, we believe single vineyard wines should only be made when a particular site yields an exceptional wine that reflects the unique character of the vineyard. I started working with Cold Creek Vineyard in 1990, and it has always been my favorite Chardonnay site in the state. Perhaps more than any other vineyard in the state, this site consistently produces Chardonnay of the highest quality year after year.” – Michael Januik
Tasting Notes: This beautifully structured Cabernet Sauvignon is loaded with plum and black currant flavors as well as boysenberry, chocolate, and cedar notes in the nose. Its texture is quite elegant and it shows great length throughout the mouth, imparting a long, luxurious finish that was developed in part from the use of new French Oak barrels.
Pairing Notes: Grilled Meats, Grilled Salmon Apple Pie
