"A supercharged, perfumed and energetic vintage for the cabernet franc at JONATA. It walks the delicate line between brooding black fruit and cooling green herbs with grace and confidence. Verdant notes of sage and rosemary are counterbalanced beautifully by cassis, blackberry and cacao. The essence of crushed stone. On the attack, the wine is endowed with dense, muscular and chewy blackberry. Menthol and black cherry. Lurking underneath the beautiful fruit expression, the tannins are powerful yet ultimately defined by finesse. Dried herb and saline nuances. This is a serious Alma that shines today but will also no doubt enter into a lovely cocoon in the cellar and emerge as a butterfly in a few years time.
