Kavaklidere Winery is the first private sector wine producer in Turkey. Since 1929, it has steadily developed to become Turkey’s leading wine producer with 610 hectares of vineyards in the most important wine producing area of Anatolia.
This Turkish wine has some unique character to it. Visually it is a pleasing light ruby color. A bit peppery on the nose, the aroma is almost comparable to that of a pinot noir. Surprisingly well structured for a wine so light in body; flavors of plum and spices grip the tongue and give way to a firm, tannic finish.
