The heart of the winery in the Langhe
La Biòca is a small winery in the Langhe. We are located near to Serralunga d'Alba, where we take care of the production, vinification, ageing and sale of the wine, and also where our agritourism is situated. We have 8 ha and we only use grapes from our vineyards located in the municipalities of Monforte d'Alba, Novello, La Morra and Barbaresco.
Tasting Notes: Even though this wine is 11 years old it is still as youthful as when it was released. A very complex nose of red berry fruit, earth notes, hints of dried flowers and rose petals. On the palate this wine explodes with a depth of layers including black cherries, leather, orange zest, baking spices and Mediterranean herbs. The finish is long and textured with ample tannins, beautiful acidity and lengthy, and leaving you desiring another sip or bottle!
Pairing Notes: Veal Ragu, Mushroom Risotto with Truffles, grilled beef, 36 month parmesan
If you like Gruners, you will certainly appreciate this one.
J. Christopher makes some amazing Pinot Noirs. This is but one of them. Strongly encourage others to sample what this winery produces.
If you have not tried a Ch. Musar, you are missing a great experience.
exceedingly average wine - I wasn't a fan of this one. If you like a watery, jammy pinot, this is it.
