Luigi Einaudi, was the Governor of the Bank of Italy, Minister and President of Italy from 1948 to 1955, never missed a harvest of grapes due to his passion for great wine. He started the winery in 1915 to not only sell grapes but to also produce and bottle great wines. The next three generations of the family have continued this tradition and making sure the wines were world class and showed how amazing the vineyards and fruit from those vineyards are.
The Einaudi Barolo Cannubi 2016, is an ample and generous wine. The Cannubi vineyard is one the top vineyard sites in the Barolo region. Made from 100% Nebbiolo, and grown at 220 meters above sea level with southern facing slopes. Do not let the light color in the glass fool you this wine is expressive, rich, and full flavored. The aromas of violet roses and baking spices entice the palate to savor the ripe red fruits, supple plum, licorice, leather notes. Full bodied tannins and eloquent acidity. Drink now through 2035.
