Marchesi di Gresy, does not have the history of some of its famous neighbors, but does not mean it is not creating quintessential Barbaresco’s. Created in 1973 by Alberto di Gresy, and has quickly become known for making some of the greatest wines in the region. The ideal southern exposure and its soil blue marl, produces fruit which creates world class wines.
The 2017 Barbaresco Riserva is a deep purple rich wine made from Nebbiolo. Medium to full bodied with notes of violets, red fruits, which continue onto the palate. The macerated red fruit notes mixed with cassis, tobacco, leather notes along with supple tannins and ripe acidity dance across the palate. Drink now through 2033.
