Gary Andrus founded Pine Ridge Vineyards in 1978. Awestruck by the unspoiled landscape and potential for world-class viticulture, Andrus planted Cabernet Sauvignon in a rugged stretch of what is now the Stags Leap District. He sensed excellence here, convinced this was where the famous varietal could achieve that enrapturing balance between power and elegance.
Today, they continue to realize this vision through Cabernet worthy of the Napa Valley name as well as varietal-designate wines that showcase the many distinctive sub-appellations of the region. Pine Ridge oversees estate vineyards in five prime appellations, including Stags Leap District, Howell Mountain, Oakville, Rutherford, and Carneros. Their team embodies Andrus’ intrepid spirit and continues to craft wines that boldy speak to their surroundings.
This Sauvignon Blanc greets the senses with delicate layers of mandarin orange peel, dried mango, and a burst of lemon-lime juice unfold into soft notes of white blossom and crystalline sweetness. The palate opens with a rush of tangerine juice, bright and mouthwatering, followed by an unexpected softness in the form of pillowy vanilla cream and the richness of lemon meringue pie. The wine offers a soft, layered texture, with vibrant acidity that keeps it lifted, sailing toward a long, refreshing finish.
Absolutely love Yalumba Viognier The Virilgus that we were introduced to by OWS Wine.
Bryan at OWS introduced us to this wine we had never had before. Knowing that I prefer dry whites, Bryan thought I would like it. He was wrong, I love it! We initially bought six bottles and came back for a case! No sweet after taste I find common in Viogniers.
