The Punset winery is located in the village of Neive, in the Piedmonte district of Italy. The "azienda agricola" lays up on a hill which faces the old town. The winery name PUNSET comes from the Piedmont's dialect and history, which says that the Counts of Neive gave this nickname to the roundish peak they could see from their castle, where the winery and vineyards are today. The winery is run by Marina Marcarino, who is one of the few female winemakers which first started activity in Piedmonte.
Producing commercially viable wines since 1964 and in the proceeding 60 years have continually improved the quality and excellence in their wines. Not only is the quality high but has maintained reasonable pricing for their wines. In 1987, the winery turned its efforts total natural efforts in winemaking and the vineyards and being certified. One consistency all of their wines have is focus, texture, balance, and a sense of place.
The ruby red color accompanies pleasant aromas of red berry fruit, intense and harmonious. The fruity aroma is also very evident to the taste sensation, characterized by not very intense acidity and a dry and clean finish. The pleasantness of this product is given by its frankness and typicality, so evident thanks also to the total absence of wood.
Absolutely love Yalumba Viognier The Virilgus that we were introduced to by OWS Wine.
Bryan at OWS introduced us to this wine we had never had before. Knowing that I prefer dry whites, Bryan thought I would like it. He was wrong, I love it! We initially bought six bottles and came back for a case! No sweet after taste I find common in Viogniers.
