From a place more known for their Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir, Puriri Hills is making incredible Bordeaux varietal based wines which compare on a world stage.
The 2015 vintage is a blend of Merlot(60%) Cabernet Sauvignon(11%) Malbec(4%) Cabernet Franc (16%) and Carmenere(9%) which is super elegant in a glass. POWER is the word which first comes to mind when describing these wines. Aromas of violets, cassis, dried plum and nutmeg. On the palate the symphony of flavors continues with the addition of dark cherries, chocolate, cedar and tobacco notes. A wine which gets better with age if you can wait that long.
