Rasa Vineyards Dreams Deferred Chardonnay Walla Walla Washington 2018
Rasa Vineyards was started by two brothers Pinto and Billo Naravane in 2009, when they made their first two wines QED and Principia Reserve Syrah. These wines received 94 points and 97 points respectively and a dream turned into a reality. Over the next 16 years they have continued to refine and develop more wines all with stories and showcasing a particular place and varietal. Their Occams Razor red is one of our best sellers.
The name "Dream Defered" comes from the poem "Harlem[2}" by Langston Hughes which starts with question "What happens to a dream deferred?" Pinto's son upon reading this asked his father "what would of happened to me if I didn't follow my dreams of starting a winery?" We can relate to following our dreams and doing what we love and have a passion for...
The 2018 ‘Dream Deferred’ Chardonnay was sourced from the Frenchman Hills Vineyard on the Wahluke Slope AVA. Mango and ripe pineapple combine with shades of nectarine rind, cloves, and vanilla cream on the nose. The palate shows terrific verve, with great depth and concentration. Layers of vanilla cream and banana mingle with baking spice-infused Challah bread and nutty as well as damp earth undertones and a faint dusting of salinity. A complete wine, this is sinfully good in its youth and will provide drinking enjoyment for another decade.
