Super dark in color, the contributions of Petite Sirah and Syrah are immediately evident. Aromas of ripe red and black fruit marry with a hint of cedar. On the palate this ripe rich red blend is amazingly lively – the weight of the Rhône varieties balanced perfectly by the mid-palate of our classic Merlot. A bit of Charbono completes the dance! Having just enough grip in the finish makes this a very approachable, versatile, food-friendly red wine.
Like its namesake, this Griffin is a powerful combination of strengths. This year’s blend is 44% Merlot, 40% Petite Sirah, 14% Syrah, and 2% Charbono.
