In 1920, grandfather Abele, already a grapegrower in Santo Stefano di Valdobbiadene, purchased from Conte Balbi Valier a magnificent, conch-shaped vineyard, at once gorgeous and rich with promise. A piece of land with which to begin afresh after the devastations of World War I, together with his children, , in a family known locally as “I Casei.” Abele “Casel” Adami had the extraordinary idea of separating this vineyard from the others, as he already had done with the Cartizze vineyard. It was an unusual intuition because it is rare to be able to sensitively capture nature’s whispers, observe and understand the very soul of places destined to produce true jewels.
In Colbertaldo, in the Soprapiana zone, one can still stroll in a woods of centuries-old oak and chestnut, once known as Bosco di Gica. Bosco di Gica Valdobbiadene DOCG Brut, a versatile sparkling wine that embodies an appealing balance between a subtly aromatic nose and a dry palate, which makes it one of Adami’s most prized wines.
With a distinct freshness and range of fruit flavors, Bosco di Gica is one of Adami's best-known wines. A brut with 10 grams of residual sugar, the wine is perfectly balanced showing more body than sweetness. The vineyards are located in the Valdobbiadene area within the Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco DOCG. This rugged set of hills in the middle of Veneto is where Prosecco has its historical roots and has been made for centuries. Bosco di Gica is the name of a historical forest (bosco) where the family's vineyards are planted today.
Creamy mousse and delicate, long-lasting bead. Rich, with excellent fruit, releasing scents of yellow apple and peach, with notes of wisteria and acacia blossom. Wonderful balance and elegance complement a pleasurably crisp spiciness. Delicious vein of acidity, displaying crisp, savory mouthfeel. Generous, lingering flavors nicely mirror the nose and achieve perfect balance.
