The winemaking legacy at Beaulieu Vineyard remains unbroken for more than a century. Our story as one of the longest continually operating wineries in Napa Valley is written by the remarkable place and the extraordinary people who shaped winemaking in America. We respect classic values and the art of craftsmanship and believe that these aspects of our heritage cannot be left behind.
In 1900, when Georges de Latour's wife, Fernande, first laid eyes on the land that would become our original Rutherford vineyard, she said "Quel beau lieu!" or "What a beautiful place.” Shortly thereafter, de Latour sold his thriving cream of tartar business, bought the four-acre ranch, and founded Beaulieu Vineyard with the vision of making Napa Valley wines that would rival those of his native France.
In 1938, post-Prohibition, de Latour traveled to France and met André Tchelistcheff. De Latour hired Tchelistcheff, a Russian-born enologist with European winemaking expertise and a spirit of innovation, as winemaker
The wine shows caramel and ripe red berry fruits on the nose. The palate is generous and juicy with a plethora of red berries. Strawberry, black cherry, and cassis prevail up front, while kola nut, mocha, and toasted oak support with a mouth-pleasing character and approachability. Medium bodied with soft tannins and a lovely mouthfeel, this Cabernet is very drinkable upon release.
Absolutely love Yalumba Viognier The Virilgus that we were introduced to by OWS Wine.
Bryan at OWS introduced us to this wine we had never had before. Knowing that I prefer dry whites, Bryan thought I would like it. He was wrong, I love it! We initially bought six bottles and came back for a case! No sweet after taste I find common in Viogniers.
