Conti Costanti Brunello di Montalcino Italy 2018
The Costanti family has been in the Republic of Siena since its inception in 1555. The family stayed in the Montalcino region after the 1559 transfer of the area to the Florentines and Spaniards. They have been making wine in the area since the 1750’s and the family is wound throughout the history of Brunello di Montalcino and its progression of being world class wines in the 1860’s. Brunello became a DOCG in 1980 and has become one of the most well known regions in Italy. A true “cult” wine until the early 1960’s when production was increased enough to be in more commercial success. Andrea Costanti the current stewart of the property continues the 400 year tradition of high quality wines.
