When tasting older Burgundies and especially white wines, you realize you are tasting a place and time in history. In the case of the Dom. Larue Puligny Les Garennes the 2005 is special from the moment you pull the cork. The aromatics are still fresh and lively of carmelized honey and hazelnut. On the palate the spices and fresh herbs mixed with pear, apple and pineapple cascade across the palate in a delightful dance. The acidity is well balanced and just a hint of alcohol.
