In 2012, after creating single varietal examples of the main stay Priorat grapes in 2011, Jonas Gustafsson on a January visit to the winery encouraged her to explore the possibility of blending her best Garnatxa and Carienya into a cuvee with no Syrah. It was during this blending process Sylvia noticed a few barrels just did not fit into the blend. The decision was made to make these barrels into a separate bottling. The decision proved to be a good one as the two cuvees are unique and both spectacular in their own ways.
Big, Burly, and clearly the Big Brother wine to Cuvee #1, this wine is pure Priorat from the popping of the cork until the last drop. You get everything from chocolate, black cherries, blueberries, plum fruits, minerality, great acid, balance and a pureness which was not seen in other Priorat wines from this vintage. Like a steam engine locomotive moving across your palate making you want more and more this wine over delivers and will continue to do so for another decade plus. There were only 27 cases of 750 ml made.
