The Pecchenino winery has always been a family business. The first documents attesting the winemaking activity date back to the end of the 20th century, when the winery, managed by grandfather Attilio, had little more than 8 hectares. In the 1970s, the reins of the company passed into the hands of his son Marino and later, at the end of the 1980s in line with the generational changeover, his sons Orlando and Attilio took over the business.
This 100% Chardonnay is cultivated in vineyards located in the Bossolasco area of the Alta Langa where the soil is rich with limestone and white clay. With pain-staking attention to detail in the vineyards, the grapes are top quality. The wine undergoes natural fermentation for a true-to-terroir style, followed by aging on the lees in a combination of stainless steel and barrique.
Straw yellow in color with fresh floral aromas, citrus fruits and hints of exotic fruits. This wine is characterised by a medium body, good acidity and minerality. You'll find that on the palate, it is well balanced, elegant and with an excellent complexity and persistence.
Absolutely love Yalumba Viognier The Virilgus that we were introduced to by OWS Wine.
Bryan at OWS introduced us to this wine we had never had before. Knowing that I prefer dry whites, Bryan thought I would like it. He was wrong, I love it! We initially bought six bottles and came back for a case! No sweet after taste I find common in Viogniers.
