Rasa Vineyards For the Love of the Game Walla Walla Washington 2021
Rasa Vineyards was started by two brothers Pinto and Billo Naravane in 2009, when they made their first two wines QED and Principia Reserve Syrah. These wines received 94 points and 97 points respectively and a dream turned into a reality. Over the next 16 years they have continued to refine and develop more wines all with stories and showcasing a particular place and varietal. Their Occams Razor red is one of our best sellers.
"In 2014, we got access to just a little bit (1.5 tons) of Cabernet Sauvignon from Wallula Gap Vineyard. It’s from Block 15, planted to Clone 8 (FYI, almost all Cabernet planted in Washington before 2000 will be Clone 8). This is great Cabernet and we are thrilled to be working with it. The first vintage was released on May 5, 2017 and it is a beauty.
Billo and I were 6 and 8 years old respectively when we came to this country. Through baseball, we assimilated quickly to our new lives. We were good at baseball and played at every opportunity. For me, baseball is linked inextricably to the hopes, promises, and ideals that the United States holds for so many people. My senior year in college, I played my last competitive game. Twenty-nine years later, I can still feel the calluses on my hands – a constant reminder of a glorious youth spent on the diamond, playing a game I love, in a country I love." - Pinto Naravane
A blockbuster wine and a complete stunner, this great Cabernet wine was sourced from the Wallula Gap Vineyard. This was aged in 70% new French oak (predominantly from Troncais and Alliers) and 30% neutral French oak prior to bottling. The Cabernet begins with simply intoxicating aromatics of crème de cassis, anise, red bell pepper and coffee grounds all taking shape. The complex aromatic profile constantly brings you back to the glass for more. Crushed mint, black tea, black cherry cough drop and sage flavors impress and add additional sexy layers. This is massive, structured and absolutely gorgeous,
