Soléna is a combination of Spanish and French words Solana and Soleil, celebrating the sun, the moon and cycles of life.They launched in May of 2000 when their owners purchased an 80-acre estate which became the Domaine Danielle Laurent vineyard. Furthering their successful careers in the Oregon wine industry, Laurent Montalieu and Danielle Andrus Montalieu gifted this vineyard to each other for their wedding, and began a wine label named Soléna after their daughter.
The 2022 Grande Cuvée Pinot Noir is made from a collection of family owned vineyards across the Willamette Valley. This wine has a welcoming nose of dark cherry, winter spices and hints of garden herbs. The palate is sample and smooth, tasting of raspberry, black plum, and ancient soil. A slate like minerality comes through to the bright finish.
